Some people don't like to be photographed, and in some cultures, there is the belief that when you take a photo, you take something away from the person, and for sure you can use a person's image in devious ways. I always try to be respectful when making portraits... but sometimes you can't miss an opportunity.

The story with first picture is a bit funny. The parents were all in favour of me photographing their boy, but I had forgotten that I had used the time delay for the previous photo, so when I clicked, the kid, the puppy and I had to remain motionless for 10 seconds before the shutter worked.
The two Vientiane girls wishing us sawadee dearly wanted to be photographed.
On the other hand, these women with their striped overskirts, bringing their produce from the Rif villages to Chefchaouen (Morocco),  were photo-shy.
Below: it's always fun to make kids' photos because they react spontaneously...
